You’re told that when you become a parent, everything changes. Life Is completely different, and completely wonderful. Well, mostly wonderful, perhaps not so in the middle of the night when your little one won’t sleep, or when he cries and cries for no obvious reason, and so on.
There are only so many changes that you can anticipate before baby arrives.. And one of my favourites, that I didn’t really consider, is my new role as an all round entertainer.
In in order to shower and dress in the mornings, I have turned the whole routine into an entertainment show just for munchkin. I sing my way to the bathroom, through the shower, and back to the bedroom with the little man watching me from his stripey bouncing throne the whole time. Getting dressed is the grand finale.. I Now find myself putting on some music and singing and dancing along to it as I dress.
The current favourites are ‘Tomorrow’ from Annie. Particularly good when munchkin’s bottom lip starts to wobble and I belt out ‘When you are feeling grey and loneeelyyyy, just stick out your chin, and grin, and saaaaaayyyy…’
