Reasons to be cheerful #2

duvetday

Duvet Days

Well, sort of. I don’t think duvet days are really possible when you’re a mummy of an 8 month old, but we have spent more time than usual napping, the both of us. Frey and I have both been poorly this week, and whilst that in itself isn’t one of my reasons to be cheerful, I am thankful that Frey recovered so quickly from his virus, that we weren’t poorly at the same time, and for my wonderful parents who looked after him today when all I could do was sleep. Also for the local GP surgery, who saw Frey straight away as a ‘temporary resident’, which was fantastic service.

Autumn

Autumn

Even here in the city, the Autumn colours are reaching their peak and you can’t fail to notice it. The beautiful fiery coloured leaves really give me a lift.

Wine

It’s good. Especially ‘Barefoot’ Pinot Grigio.

Adventures

We have some adventures coming up, which are really exciting. Firstly I’ve got Mumsnet Blogfest 15 coming up at the end of November, then in December Frey and I are off on our travels again, flying up to Scotland for a long weekend. We’re going to visit family, and whilst we’re there we plan on taking a trip to Edinburgh Christmas Market. Also this week, I’ve booked my early bird ticket to Brit Mums Live 2016.

I also loved our little trip to Caerphilly Castle at the weekend, which I mentioned in My Sunday Photo.

What has been making you smile this week?

A fab list. Very impressed that you’re positive enough to turn illness into a positive. I’ve also booked my Brit Mums ticket so I’ll see you there!

Thank you, well I must admit whilst it was horrible to feel poorly, having my Mum look after baby while I napped was a real luxury! Look forward to meeting you at Brit Mums! :-) x

Reasons to be cheerful: slow cooker beef stew with dumplings. I made some yesterday and will eat it today! Never eat a stew the same day its made. I’m going to try to have a bit of a duvet day tomorrow. Hope you and Frey are both on the mend.

Slow cooker stews are amazing I agree, especially the next day when you have a delicious home cooked meal without having to do any more work! Frey seems much better now thankfully, and I’m on my way! x

Oh how I miss duvet days! We very rarely get a lie in thanks to the 11yo and the 3yo twins, but the hubby and I do take it in turns to get up with them over the weekend. I love your autumn picture, such lovely colours x #HappyDays

You’re right, duvet days are more like sofa days these days but we can still wear our pjs eh? :-)
Thanks for sharing in #HappyDaysLinky x

    • thesparklenest | 16th Nov 15

Of course, my Mum told me the other day that it was perfectly acceptable to wear my pjs all day if I wasn’t going out, because they aren’t really pjs they are ‘lounge wear’! :-) x
