Little Treats

treats

I have to admit to indulging in a little retail therapy over the past few weeks, which is pretty easy to do when you’re staying in the city and there are tempting shops everywhere you go! I thought I’d share with you some of the treats that I’ve picked up for myself and munchkin.

Baby Gap Dungarees

These were a brilliant bargain, they’re good as new and I picked them up in a charity shop for £1. My little munchkin looks so cute in them!

Vtech Colours and Shapes Piano

I think this was one of my best buys ever, this little piano was 50p in the same charity shop that I got the dungarees from. It was a bit battered, and I wasn’t sure about a musical toy, but I brought it home and my Dad put some batteries in it for him, and it’s been a success from the beginning. Frey loves playing with it, and even dances every time it plays music. It can be in French or English, so I’ve gone for French, as I think the French lady has a nicer voice.

Soap and Glory Smoothie Star Body Butter

It is probably a mistake to have a Sunday afternoon mooch in the local Boots store and sniff some Soap and Glory products. They were all so scrumptious I found it hard to decide, but this body butter smells like cake, and I can’t resist anything that smells like cake. Thanks to my new body butter, I now smell like cake too.

Lamaze Dog

Another charity shop bargain for my little munchkin, this Lamaze dog was also as good as new and cost me £1.95. I keep it in bed with me, and on the odd morning when Frey has awoken at 5am, the little dog has kept him occupied for 10 minutes or so whilst I have a little doze. And that is exceptionally good value for £1.95.

Barry M Gelly Nail Paint in ‘Coconut’

I have fancied trying a very pale nail polish for a while, so I treated myself to this one by Barry M. I must admit I’m undecided on it, it was a little like painting my nails with tippex, and mistakes are very obvious with such a pale shade. It does make me feel like a trendy young thing though.. if I hold my hands in a fancy pose and squint at them.

Yankee Candle in Vanilla Cupcake

It’s a candle that smells like a cake. Candles that smell like cakes are one of the greatest things ever in my opinion, so this just couldn’t stay on the shelf!

Have you treated yourself lately? What have been your best charity shop bargains?

Nice haul! You must live in a good area. I was told even charity and second hand shops are only as good as the income level of the area they are in and I think its true, if where I am is any indication. Those overalls remind me of the brand I used to love for my kids when they were little; Oshkosh. I don’t know if they are sold here or not, but you were pretty much guaranteed that your child would outgrow them before they wore them out. Love Yankee Candle! I’ve just finished the box of their spiced orange tea lights I bought in October. No cake scents for me though thanks. I loathe vanilla in anything but actual baked goods. LOL!

I haven’t heard of Oshkosh. These dungarees are fab though, I can’t see them wearing out any time soon, even with all the crawling about he’s doing in them at the moment! Today I went to a yankee outlet store and bought a red velvet cupcake candle and a christmas biscuit candle. Takes me back I think! x

You got some lovely things – I love to see babies in dungarees, they’re so cute! Candle that smells like cake… that might be a mistake for me, I’d have to go to Tesco and buy cake! :)

The dungarees were an amazing buy, he looks fab in them, and Baby Gap for £1! You could always bake a cake, then your house would smell like one AND you’d have cake to eat at the end of it! That’s a mistake I make far too often…! x

I bought Chloe a baby piano for Xmas. She seems to like music. She has a drum set and loves playing with it every day and that only at 9 months. #thelist

Frey loves music too! My Mum has bought him a percussion set for Christmas. And a musical cookie jar…! :-) x

Love the bargains you picked up – always good to save when you know the toys are going to be a 5 minute wonder. Thanks for popping along to #coolmumclub – great to have you in the gang x MMT

Definitely good to save, he’s already lost interest as crawling around the room and tearing up magazines is MUCH more fun! Thank you for having me in cool mum club! :-) x
