Baby’s First Christmas Gift Guide

Baby's First Christmas Gift Guide

One of the reasons I’m so excited about Christmas already, aside from the fact that I’m excited about Christmas every year, is that it’s Frey’s first. I’ve seen some beautiful things around the web that I think would make perfect first Christmas gifts.

  1. Hand painted bauble from Blossom and Bear

I’ve seen a few ‘Baby’s First Christmas’ baubles around, but I think a personalised gifts are just that bit more special, such as these pretty hand painted to order ones, from Blossom and Bear. set_of_6_mini_prints

  1. Mini Prints from Blossom and Bear

I think these mini prints are so cute! I bought the ‘You are so loved’ print for Rob for his birthday this year, I used it as a gift tag on his present. I like the ‘My Super Hero’ print, which I think would be lovely framed in Frey’s nursery.

Little Red Bus

3. Big Red Bus from The Little White Company

You can’t go far wrong with The Little White Company if you’re looking for a special baby gift. I bought Frey’s first ever baby-gro from The Little White Company when I was 12 weeks pregnant. I love this Big Red Bus, a classic toy that would last for years.

5. Grimm’s Toys Water Waves from Babi Pur

I’ve just discovered Grimm’s Toys thanks to the Babi Pur website. They have a giant sit on rainbow, and classic stacking blocks, but I think my favourite has to be these wooden waves. The website suggests sitting them on top of a blue scarf to create a choppy sea.. hours of fun for when Frey is a little older!

6. What a Wonderful World book

This book is a picture book based on What a Wonderful World, the song by Louis Armstrong, and comes with a CD of the song too. It sounds magical to me!

Plaid flannel one-piece

  1. All in one plaid romper from Baby Gap

Baby Gap is another place which I think is fantastic for an extra special baby gift, I’ve bought a few baby gifts for friends from there. I love this ‘All in one plaid romper’, which I think would make super cute Christmas PJs.

Glitter Crown

  1. Glitter Crown from Little Maldod

Ok ok, this isn’t really appropriate for Frey’s first Christmas, but I had to add it because, well, isn’t it amazing?! It’s from Little Maldod, which is a beautiful web shop. I bought Frey’s baby milestone cards from Little Maldod when he was tiny and the service was fantastic. Each sequin on this crown is stitched onto woven fabric and backed by Irish linen. It is adjustable, and can fit ages 3 to adult.. perhaps I ought to have saved this one for my own Christmas wish list…

  1. Rudolph leggings by Blade and Rose

Blade and Rose leggings are just so cute. I was very tempted by some Halloween ones, but I resisted! I love these Rudolph ones for Christmas time. I’ve seen these in a few independent shops, and also on Not on The High Street.

Personalised Gift Sack

  1. Personalised Gift Sack

Finally, a personalised gift sack to put all of Frey’s gifts in, that will last him for years to come. This one is from Old English Company

Although really, at 10 months old, I expect he will be more interested in racing around the floor with discarded wrapping paper. Still, I’m ever so excited to spoil him this Christmas.

These are so cute! I love the idea of a bauble that can be hung on the tree every year – such a lovely keepsake. I also love the santa sack for the same reason – you can bring it out every year and it will always have sentimental value. I’m definitely going to have a look into these ideas as it will be my daughters second christmas – but she was only one week old last Christmas so I’m really looking forward to this year! :)

Not weird at all, I think this wish list is more for me than for baby, I don’t think he really minds at this age! x

They’re lovely aren’t they? My wish list is growing by the day! x

  8. Alison | 16th Nov 15

I remember my two babies first Christmases. I think its more for the parents and doting grandparents than the child..LOL! And you are right, Frey will be much more interested in the empty boxes and wrapping. But now is a perfect time to start making Christmas traditions that Frey will look forward to as he grows up. Perhaps along with a little brother or sister one day too.

I agree Ali, this wishlist is definitely more for me than for Frey! Already he can have toys all over the room but he’s more interested in the remote control.. or a coaster..! But I’m so excited for us to have our first Christmas together :-)

All of these gifts are just lovely, I hope Santa brings Frey each one! Those leggings are so cute, you just want to snuggle him up! And the book is so cool, “What a wonderful life” is such a great song, I bet the book is gorgeous. And don’t we all want our children to grow up knowing how wonderful the world is?

What a gorgeous list of gifts, I don’t think you could go far wrong with any one of those! My favourite has to be the hand painted baubles, I had something similar for my daughter’s first christmas. She’s now 4 and we dug it out again this morning to decorate the tree, she loved seeing her first bauble and put it in pride of place at the top of the tree. Thanks so much for linking up to #CityCountryLife! Becca xx

Tia, what a great list! And so glad they are offered online for those of us who can’t get to the amazing stores mentioned. Merry Christmas to you, your fab colleagues at GC, and to your family. If weather permits, I may make it to your mama’s store and another favorite store in Augusta, Latigo and Lace, over the holidays.
