I am a huge fan of natural health and remedies, so I was delighted to be sent the wonderful Pregnancy Care Gift Set from my lovely friends at Indigo Herbs.
A kit packed with support for use during the 2nd and 3rd trimester of Pregnancy. During the time of pregnancy the body and mind needs constant support to accommodate the nourishment and arrival of another human being on our planet. This wellbeing kit is loaded with herbal products that have been traditionally used for centuries in the journey leading to motherhood.
I love using essential oils and herbal teas in every day life, so this kit was a perfect gift for me and bump.
Firstly the tea. The kit contains a pouch of loose Raspberry Leaf tea, with a cute tea infuser to use with it. I drank Raspberry Leaf tea in my first pregnancy, but I haven’t tried a loose leaf one like this, and I much prefer loose leaf herbal tea. Raspberry Leaf is a tonic for the womb and is said to be beneficial to drink in the second and third trimester of pregnancy to support the uterus and prepare for childbirth. I like this article from Mama Natural who talks about the benefits of drinking Raspberry Leaf Tea in pregnancy.
Something I can confirm, is that for me, drinking Raspberry Leaf Tea after I’d given birth helped with my milk supply. I did a lot of research into boosting milk supply after Frey was born, and Raspberry Leaf Tea was one of the things that worked for me. That’s a story for another blog post!
Also in the Indigo Pregnancy Care gift set is a Pregnancy Care Massage Oil.
Just as with my first pregnancy, I am tearing through bottles of massage oil, and this one is truly beautiful! It’s a mild and gentle blend of Mandarin, Lavender, Geranium, Almond, Wheatgerm and Marigold. Indigo Herbs say that it’s wonderfully nurturing to the skin and can be used lovingly to massage the bump every day. I use it every night before bed, all over my bump, and the rest of me too! I’m sure it’s not just me, but one of my niggles in late pregnancy is itchy skin as I stretch all over – this oil really helps to soothe that uncomfortable feeling, and it smells amazing.
Along with the massage oil, is a Pregnancy Care Essential Oil Blend, which contains the essences of Mandarin, Lavender and Geranium. This can be used in the bath, or in a diffuser or an oil burner to perfume your room. Although my labour with Frey didn’t go quite to plan, I was able to have essential oils diffused in the delivery room, so this is something I hope to be able to do again with this lovely blend.
Thank you so much Indigo Herbs for treating me to this gift set. As this is my second pregnancy, and I have a very lively toddler, it’s rare to find the time to take care of myself and bump, so receiving this set was a real luxury, and I absolutely love all of the products and I’m getting good use from all of them!
The Pregnancy Care and Wellbeing Gift Set is available from Indigo Herbs and costs £19.99. You can find it on their website here. https://www.indigo-herbs.co.uk/shop/buy/pregnancy-care-and-wellbeing-gift-set
It would make a wonderful gift for a pregnancy friend, perhaps who is about to go on maternity leave, or who needs encouragement to look after themselves and their bump in a beautifully natural way!
