Lumity Life Anti-Ageing Beauty Routine

As I’ve slowly been waking up from the fog of having a newborn and a toddler, I’m realising more than ever that I can only be the best mother I can be if I look after myself too. Of course I knew this six months ago too, but it’s all too easy to slip into the morning coffee habits, and a glass of wine to wind down after a manic day all too often. I’ve read so many articles in the first few months after my youngest was born which told me to look after myself – you can’t pour from a cup that’s empty they said. My usual thought was, ‘Who’s got the time for that?’. Honestly, for a while I’d all but given up on myself.

But now, this is where I reiterate what those articles told me – make the time for self care! Because, quite simply, the better you feel, the easier it is to look after and love your children day after day. The happier and more energetic you are, the happier your children will be too.

Lumity Life

When I was asked if I would like to try out Lumity Life – an anti-ageing food supplement which promises ‘Deeper Sleep, Strengthened Immunity and Glowing Skin’ I couldn’t wait to give it a try. As you’ll know if you’re a regular reader, I am passionate about healing our bodies from within, and natural remedies – and, now I’ve woken up, self care.

Lumity Life was created by Sara Palmer-Hussey PhD, who, as a working mother in her early forties, was moved to solve the question, ‘How can we grow older and wiser, yet maintain the health, energy and radiance of our youth? Is it possible to bloom and thrive as we mature?’ I know I really hope that it is!

Although it is called an anti-ageing supplement, Lumity doesn’t just focus on the appearance of wrinkles. It is said to help hair and nails, vitality and brain health, bones, joints, muscles and teeth, and also help support the immune system. It does this with a blend of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, CoQ10 (a vitamin like substance found in every cell of the body, the production of which decreases as we age) and turmeric root. I really love that Lumity Life is free from caffeine and stimulants. You can read more about the science behind Lumity Life here.

Lumity Life

When you order your first four week supply of Lumity Life, you receive two bottles of capsules. Coffee coloured capsules to take in the morning, and milk coloured capsules to take at bedtime. I keep my morning capsules by the kettle, and my night capsules on my bedside table so I remember to take them.

As I write this review, I’ve been taking Lumity Life for six weeks.. and these are the results I have noticed so far..

Better quality sleep and improved energy

One of the main reasons I was drawn to Lumity Life of course, as sleep is so important to me! There are a lot of things I do to help me sleep, which I have written about here, but I’m certain that Lumity Life has helped. I wear a fitbit tracker, which as well as counting my daily steps, also shows me the quality of my sleep and tells me the number of minutes I was awake or restless during the night. I still wake with my youngest for night feeds, so a full night’s sleep is a while away for me… but aside from that, more nights than most, the rest of my sleep is now much more restful, and I can really feel the difference during the day. I bet you’re familiar with the 3.00 slump, that wave of tiredness that rushes over you mid afternoon – well, now this happens so much less than it did before I started to take the supplements.

Two weeks ago, so four weeks into my Lumity Life trial, I decided I was going to try to kick my coffee habit. I had a headache for the first three days from the caffeine withdrawal, but since then, I have been absolutely fine.

Improved skin

Lumity Life

I don’t often share a photo of myself, but this was taken a few weeks ago, and I wasn’t wearing any makeup at all. I do have tired eyes of course, but I haven’t had a full night’s sleep for 2 and a half years, since I became a Mum, so bear that in mind! I used to be a person who wouldn’t leave the house, even to pop to the shops, without my foundation on. I stopped being that person when I had my second baby, simply because time and care for my appearance went out of the window, but now I actually feel confident without make-up for the first time in my life. I think a lot of that has to do with a combination of things, such as my improved diet, but I really believe that this supplement has helped too.

The other improvement I’ve seen in my skin is that I don’t need as much moisturiser. Usually after a shower, the skin on my face would be so tight and dry, but that has changed too.

Lumity Life

I’m happy that I had the opportunity to try Lumity Life, which has come at the perfect time for me, as a very busy new mother in my mid-30s. It’s available to buy online for £79 for a four week supply on Lumity’s auto replenish subscription, which you can cancel at anytime if you wish.

If you would like to try Lumity for yourself, you can follow this link for 20% off your first auto replenish order as a friend of The Sparkle Nest http://lumityuk.refr.cc/rebeccaamesbury

Disclaimer – I was sent a four week supply of Lumity for the purpose of this review. All opinions are my own

Starting to look a bit crispy round the edges as my toddlers pamper routine is more advanced then mine haha. Loving the photos too makes the packaging pop

I know what you mean! My toddler gets a lovely bubble bath and a massage all over with coconut oil too, plus a blow dry. No such luxuries for me, I tie my hair back and wait for it to dry naturally!

Despite only having one toddler I’m in desperate need of an injection of youth as my 40’s beckon ever closer! Good to have an idea of something new to try.

I think as women in this generation we are looking into products like this more and more at a younger age. This sounds like a great range of anti aging supplements. I’ve only been looking at skin products so this is definitely interesting, I’ll take a look at these too. Thanks for sharing!
