When you choose joy, you feel good and
When you feel good, you do good and
When you do good it reminds others
what joy feels like and it just might inspire them to
do the same.
I absolutely love giving gifts at Christmas. Last year I started preparing for Christmas really early, as my youngest son was due to be born in October, and I wanted to get organised so I didn’t have to go around the shops with a newborn and my 19 month old.. and this year I’ve started pretty early too!
However there is something very special about homemade gifts – something that has been made just for the recipient. This year I’ve used some of Indigo Herb’s goodies to make some bath melts, completely inspired by their ‘Joy’ essential oil blend. The blend isn’t a traditional ‘Christmasssy’ fragrance, but instead an uplifting blend of grapefruit, bergamot and lemon. Perfect to bring some cheer!
This recipe is so simple to make, and has only three ingredients..
You will need:
150g Cocoa Butter
75ml Sweet Almond Oil
Around 40 drops of ‘Joy’ Essential Oil Blend
Some silicone moulds
Some cosmetic glitter (optional)
Put the cocoa butter into your pyrex jug and rest in a saucepan of water. Gently heat on the stove until the cocoa butter has completely melted.
Meanwhile, sprinkle some cosmetic glitter if you choose to use it into the bottom of your moulds.
Remove from the heat, and add the sweet almond oil. Leave to cool and then add your drops of essential oil blend.
Pour the mixture into the moulds, then transfer to the fridge and leave until completely set.
Then have fun wrapping and adding ribbons and bows!
I put mine into mini muffin containers and then into a box filled with tinsel for some added Christmas sparkle!
You can use whichever type of mould you wish for these, they don’t have to be mini melts – I also made some using a larger mould which would make great little stocking fillers.
All of the ingredients are available to purchase from Indigo Herbs of Glastonbury.
