Chocolate Rose Love Elixir

There’s something wonderful about the idea of a love potion. A magical potion that can make someone fall in love with you, or act as an aphrodisiac. Well, I can’t promise you that with this Chocolate Rose Love Elixir, but I can promise you a deliciously comforting drink, which is perfect to share with the one you love. Or, perfect to curl up and relax with, all by yourself.

The main, magical, ingredient in this delicious chocolatey drink is the ‘Love Elixir’, which is, a tincture of rose petals. Now rose petals really are magical in my opinion. They’re medicine for the heart. They can help heal pain and open and protect the heart chakra. And I’m all about looking after yourself, and your own heart.

Let’s start..

Rose Tincture

For the tincture, you will need –

Rose Blossom Tea

Vodka or Brandy

An airtight glass jar

Method:

Fill your jar 3/4 full with rose petals, then top up with the vodka or brandy. Using a wooden spatula, gently push down the petals until they are completely covered by the alcohol.

Leave to infuse in a cool, dark place for a minimum of two weeks.

After your rose petals have infused, they will have lost all their colour. Strain into a dark glass bottle using a muslin cloth. You now have your rose tincture – or, as I like to call it – love elixir!

Love Elixir

You can take your ‘Love Elixir’ in the way you would take any other tincture, with a drop under the tongue. Or, you could make this delicious chocolate love potion with it.

You will need –

1 cup almond milk

1 heaped desert spoon raw cacao powder

1 teaspoon coconut sugar

1 teaspoon Love Elixir

Chocolate Love Potion

Method –

Simply add all of the ingredients to a milk pan, and heat gently on the hob, stirring well.

Pour into a mug, curl up and enjoy! (Double the ingredients if you’re sharing this with a loved one!)

This is a super-food drink – the raw cacao along with the Love Elixir makes it packed with antioxidants, as well as being uplifting and mood boosting.

All of the ingredients are available from Indigo Herbs of Glastonbury.

And.. if you fancy getting a little giddy, I’ve put together a super short video to show you how to make the Chocolate Love Potion. Beware, it’s my first attempt at video and is very wobbly!

Sending you lots of love xx
